Want to make your Instagram business more convenient and engaging? You can use a shoppable post that features a clickable shopping bag icon displaying product information and a call to action.
Not only will this create a seamless purchasing experience for your customers, but it also allows advertising without seeming too pushy.
Quick-Step
Upload your product catalog to Facebook Business Manager, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc > After the catalog is approved, tag the product picture on Instagram.
Step-by-step Guidance in Selling Products from Instagram using Shoppable Posts
Before you can use this feature, however, there are certain criteria you need to meet:
– Having your business in one of these market categories.
– Operate a business or creator account.
– The goods you sell are physical and comply with the platform’s commerce policies and merchant agreement.
– Your Instagram business account is connected to a Facebook business page.
Once all of these requirements are met, you can then proceed to sell on Instagram and use the shoppable post feature.
1. First, upload your product catalog using Facebook Business Manager by manually adding the items one by one. You can visit this link for further instructions on how to do this.
Alternatively, you can also use third-party eCommerce apps like Shopify or BigCommerce.
2. Once your catalog is approved, you can start tagging product pictures on Instagram so your visitors can see the information and click on the purchase link.
3. To do this, upload your image and once you finished editing, hit Next > Tag Products. Select the product shown on the image you want to tag, search for the item, and tap the name.
4. Click Done once you found it.
5. If you have an older post that still attracts a good chunk of traffic, you can also edit it so it has a shoppable tag. Instagram allows tagging up to five items in a single image and 20 products for each carousel (multiple pictures) post.
Good luck!
