There are times when you just need a break from seeing someone’s posts on Instagram even when you are following them. When that happens, the mute feature is a friend you can rely on.
There are two ways you can mute someone on Instagram, let’s take a look at both!
Quick-Step
(1)Go to an account you follow > Tap Following button > Select Mute
(2)Find a post > Tap the 3-dot button > Click Mute

The First Method
1. Head over to the account you want to mute and tap the Following button. It should open up a drop-down menu where you can select Mute.
2. From there, you can opt to mute posts, stories, or both.
3. You can also mute a profile from your timeline by directly pressing on a story highlighted in your tray.
If you don’t want to go directly to someone’s profile just to mute them, or can’t find them through their story, you can also do it via their post.
The Second Method
1. Click the three dots located on the top right corner of the post and click mute.
2. Just like before, you’ll get the option to mute all posts and stories from the account.
